Opioid Antagonists Policy
Connecticut College is committed to the health and safety of its community members and
strives to prevent the harm that may result from the misuse and abuse of opioid substances.
Accordingly, the College supports the availability and use of opioid antagonists (i.e.
naloxone) on this campus. The Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Operations is
responsible for ensuring the purchase of opioid antagonists and its availability in the
designated locations on campus. Information about its availability and storage locations will
be annually distributed via email to students and employees.
To ensure rapid access to individuals on the campus, opioid antagonists will be stored
according to the manufacturer’s guidelines in the following locations:
1. Luce Field House - Sports Medicine Facility
2. Gatehouse and Campus Safety vehicles
3. Warnshuis Student Health Center
The Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Operations is responsible for the routine
inspection and replacement of expired opioid antagonists. Per the College’s emergency
response protocols, Campus Safety will call 911 Emergency Services whenever Campus
Safety is made aware that an opioid antagonist has been administered.
