Swim captain Olivia Haskell named Google Cloud Academic All-American

Swimming standout Olivia Haskell ’19 has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III Women's At-Large Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced. Haskell, who graduated in May with a major in economics and a double minor in psychology and sociology, was selected to the third team.

Haskell is the third women's swimmer in program history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition and one of just 16 women's swimmers in the country to receive the prestigious award this year. The women's at-large team also consists of student-athletes who excelled in golf, field hockey, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, skiing, tennis and water polo.

A team co-captain specializing in freestyle, Haskell played a pivotal role in leading the women's swimming and diving team to a top-16 finish at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships every year since her arrival on campus. This past winter, Haskell was the NESCAC champion in the 100-yard freestyle and earned NCAA All-America laurels three times, finishing eighth in the 50-free and anchoring the 800- and 400-free relay teams, which placed fifth and seventh, respectively.

After completing her Conn career as a six-time NCAA All-American and a nine-time NCAA All-America Honorable Mention, Haskell was awarded the Anita L. DeFrantz Award, which goes to Conn’s Female Athlete of the Year.

Out of the pool, Haskell was heavily involved with campus life as a member of the Student Activities Council, SafetyNet, Psi Chi Honor Society for psychology, and the Womxn's Empowerment Initiative. She also served as an intern in the College’s Office of Sexual Violence Prevention and Advocacy. Since graduating, she has begun her professional career in New York City as a sales development representative for CB Insights.
