  • Rodericks named Academic All American

Hockey’s Connor Rodericks ’20 named COSIDA Academic All-American

Rodericks becomes Conn's school-record third honoree this year

Men’s Ice Hockey goalie Connor Rodericks ’20 has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Division III Men's At-Large Second Team. The announcement makes Rodericks the third student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors this year—a school record.

This is the second honor for Rodericks, who is just the fourth student-athlete in school history for any sport to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American more than once. He was named to the third team during his breakout sophomore campaign. He is one of only seven ice hockey players to be named to the team this year.

An Economics major, Rodericks graduated summa cum laude as the most decorated student-athlete in the 40-year history of the men’s ice hockey program and was most recently the recipient of Conn’s Anita L. DeFrantz Award, which recognizes the athletic department’s top male athlete and top female athlete each year. He ended his illustrious four-year career with five school records, including a .929 career save percentage, a 2.47 goals against average, and four shutouts. Rodericks' .939 save percentage and 2.02 goals against average in his senior season also ranked first in the single-season program annals and bettered his previous school-record marks established two years ago.

Rodericks has also been named the NESCAC Player of the Year, a CCM/AHCA All-America Second Team selection, and a New England Hockey Writers Association Division II/III All-Region honoree. The goalie is the only Camel men’s ice hockey player to earn NESCAC Player of the Year and All-America laurels.

Rodericks will begin his professional career as an Asset Management Analyst at Public Financial Management (PFM).

Rodericks joins women’s soccer defender Sara Kogelmann ’20 and women’s swimming freestyle specialist Maddie Ford ’21 in earning CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in the 2019-2020 academic year, which marks the first time in Conn history that three student-athletes achieved the honor in a single year.
