All seven of Conn’s A Cappella groups—Co Co Beaux, Conn Artists, The ConnChords, ConnArtists, Miss Connduct, The Shwiffs, Vox Cameli and Williams Street Mix—took to the stage for their Fall Weekend concert on Tempel Green. Each group performed two pieces and introduced new members.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day

The Theater Department’s fall main stage production, “Set Zero,” by Mashuq Mushtaq Deen, was directed by Associate Professor of Theater Kenny Prestininzi in Tansill Theater and ran Oct. 18-20. In this metaphoric play, a family of mathematicians work all day in the pursuit of an equation that cannot be resolved. While they do so, they confront ideas of love, duty, death and how knowledge is passed on from one generation to the next. The production starred Mia Rubino ’25, Ava Mary Aloia ’26, Amanda Brady ’25, Nadia Hopkins ’25, Lucas Vasquez ’26, Giuseppe Piccirilli ’25 and Ryan Brearley ’28.

Connecticut College hosted a debate between the two candidates for the 2nd Congressional District, Democratic incumbent Joe Courtney and Republican challenger Mike France in Evans Hall on Oct. 10. The debate was co-sponsored by The Day, WFSB-TV and Camels Vote, a nonpartisan campus initiative that promotes voting and civic engagement. The Day’s Lee Howard served as the moderator, and panelists included The Day’s opinion page editor Owen Poole; WFSB’s chief political reporter Susan Raff; and Sophia Williams ’26, ambassador of Camels Vote. Connecticut College President Andrea Chapdelaine delivered opening remarks.

The Clothesline Project is a visual display of sexual violence statistics that often go ignored. Each shirt is made by a survivor of violence or by someone who has lost a loved one to violence. The purpose of the project is to increase awareness of the impact of violence and abuse, to honor a survivor’s strength to continue, and to provide another avenue for them to courageously break the silence that often surrounds their experience.
