Mailing FAQs
When can I send packages to my student at Conn so that they can pick them up on Arrival Day?
You can begin sending items to Conn in Mid July.
How can we send packages before my student arrives at Conn?
If your student is coming a long distance or you just want to send things to campus in advance, you can mail packages to Conn's Campus Mailroom using the following address:
Your Student's First & Last Name ((Nickname (if any))
270 Mohegan Avenue #Your Student's 4 digit Mailbox Number
New London CT 06320
Please be careful to check and make sure your student's name is on the package (particularly an issue with Amazon orders). If a package is received with a non-student name, we will hold it for 2 weeks in case a student comes in with a tracking number to pick it up.
Where can my student find their mailbox number?
They can find it in MyHousing where they found their housing assignment. They can also find it in the Campus Directory in the drop down arrow.
When is the Mail Room open and how can my student pick up their packages?
Campus mail room hours are being finalized for Arrival Day and Welcome Weekend, but will be posted in Camelweb. Please note: Your student will receive an email or text message from the college when their package is ready for pick-up. This message will include their pick-up time and location. If they are unable to pick up at that time, they should email the Mailroom staff (mailroom@conncoll.edu) or call 860-439-2370, so that they can arrange an alternate pick up time or have a friend pick up for them. (Please note that the carrier may inform you that a package has been delivered, but the Mailroom still needs to process it. Your student will need to wait until they get the notification from the mailroom before coming over to pick up their package.)
Are you sending an item that is needed immediately by your student?
For any item sent that is needed immediately please email: mailroom@conncoll.edu with a tracking number, the student's name and box number when you order the item. As soon as the package arrives the Mailroom will contact them to come and get it. They do not have to wait until the window opens.
Does the college have lockers for package delivery?
The college has a bank of Amazon lockers located in the College Center at Crozier Williams. When ordering from Amazon select Amazon Hub Locker - Dream | at Connecticut College - Crozier-Williams. Amazon will notify you if there is room to accommodate your package. Amazon sends notification and an access code when the package arrives. The package will be held for three days. These lockers have 24/7 access and should always be chosen when possible for ease of pick up.
Are there any items that we can't send to the College Mail Room?
We ask that you do not ship any of the following items:
- Rugs
- Futons
- Couches
- Air Conditioners (personal/window ACs are not allowed in any residence hall)
- Perishable items
- Refrigerators (Personal refrigerators must not exceed 5 cubic feet if they are brought to campus. You can rent a micro-fridge through the College’s rental provider, New England Student Services.)
- Microwaves (Stand-alone microwave ovens are restricted in that the College reserves the right to have the oven removed if it causes an electrical problem.)
What do we do if we need to send medication to campus?
Health services does not manage student medications that are sent. Medication is the direct responsibility of the student and should be delivered to the student directly at the Mailroom. Please email mailroom@conncoll.edu and let them know you are expecting medication (a couple of days notice is preferred) so they can arrange a timely pick up for you.
General Information:
Please note our college Mailroom is not a US Post Office. While we sell stamps and mailing supplies and mail packages via USPS and UPS we do not offer money orders or process passports. If you need to send something out of the country please come talk to our mailroom staff and they can advise on the best method to meet your need.
You are welcome to reach out to us at the Mailroom by emailing mailroom@conncoll.edu or calling 860-439-2370 with any questions or concerns you might have.
