An avid cheese lover who enjoys wearing dark-colored lipstick and binge-watching Kristen Stewart, Shannon Elizabeth Keating ’13 had one of the top trending articles on Buzzfeed, attracting more than 7,000 views in late September.

The article, “Movies I Loved Before My Feminism Made Me Love Them Less,” reflects Keating’s personal (and humorous) comments on popular movies of today, such as “The Notebook” and “Love Actually.

With a bachelor’s degree in English, as well as a focus in narrative studies: literature and film, Keating has taken her degree to the next level as her work has appeared on Jezebel.com and TheAtlantic.com, among other outlets.

As a soon-to-be Conn graduate, I’m in the process of finding my future career path and creative passions in writing. With the help of the career office advisers, professors and the alumni engagement office, I have been able to learn about and experience a wide variety of internship opportunities.

Next semester, I’m excited about my self-designed independent study on fashion journalism and blogging. More recently, I have started to re-design the blog for our on-campus fashion magazine, TheLook. I look to notable alums from the College, such as Shannon Keating or Sloane Crosley, for inspiration and am honored to soon become a part of such a well-regarded alumni network.
